Biography
Theo Alexander is a pianist and contemporary composer from London. A unique use of cassette recorders is staple to his work, either using intensive, successive re-amping or live tape loop manipulation. His music concerns themes of memory, decay and repetition, often explored through motifs that are echoed across a number of instruments in the same piece. His first piano quartet, Fixations, was released in 2015. Since this time he has primarily explored the formal possibilities of the piano combined with a four track cassette recorder.
Previously he has played in doom metal, industrial and psychedelic bands such as Lasers From Atlantis and Brightness.
