Biography
Therapayne is a 5 piece Groove/Death metal band from Johannesburg South, Gauteng, South Africa.
The band was founded by Craig Nel, Ipeleng Molete and Scotford Cowell, soon after their respective bands had disbanded. The concept has always been to create a unique offering, a mixture of styles and influences driven by the individual members. The band has undergone several member changes since it was initially founded, but the spirit of “mix chemical A with chemical B and see what happens” has remained a constant. In its latest incarnation, the band has added the raw and passionate black metal influence of guitarist Craig Martin and the distinguished talents of bassist Joss Burgess. Mixed in with the imposing vocals of Ipeleng Molete, the blues-inspired creative force that is Craig Nel and the unrelenting drumming wizardry of Scotford Cowell, the band’s ambitions continue to grow while at the same time keeping with the original philosophy of unequaled creativity and uncompromising metal.
