Biography
Comprising members of veteran Huddersfield bands Stupid Like You and Garon Shark, They Mademedoit combine hard-hitting drum 'n' bass/dance drum loops with searing guitar riffs, funky bass lines, and melodic vocals to make a sound that blends musical genres to create something fresh.
Band members Simon Davis (main vocals, lyrics), Alex Quinn (guitar, vocals), and Mark Davis (bass, keyboards), strive to create music that evokes the here and now, not recreates the past. Taking the staples of modern rock (huge guitar riffs, driving basslines, impassioned melodies) and welding them to razor-sharp dance dump loops, the band make a sound that is at once familiar and brand new. Lyrics cover subject matters like the dissillusionment and monotony of life in a small town ("We Need To Go", "Triple"), and the fallout of long-term relationships ("I Could End You With More Precision", "Jess"), helping to keep the band's music on a more personal, intimate level than might first be apparent.
They Mademedoit have their sights set on taking their music to as wide an audience as possible, with a genuine love for, and belief in, what they do.
They Mademedoit broke up in early 2006 to concentrate on other projects.
