Biography
There is surprisingly little information concerning Thirty Ντέρτι (misspelled sometimes as Thirty Dirty, actually a correct pronunciation!) over the WWW, so the following may be inaccurate, hopefully at a small degree.
The fact is that Thirty Ντέρτι is a band created by multi-talented greek musician/producer/writer/etc. Θοδωρής Μανίκας and have released one album entitled "Η Συνομωσία των Μετρίων" (means "The Consipracy of the Mediocre") in 1998. The album is solid, clean-cut and well-played featuring two very inspired covers, one from Εν πλω, ("Χωρίς Κανόνα") and one from Διονύσης Σαββόπουλος("Η Θανάσιμη μοναξιά του Αλέξη Ασλάνη"), the self titled "Η Συνομωσία των Μετρίων", a song mosty noted for its caustic lyrics which criticize modern greeks and their attitude, and of course the song "Είμαστε στον Αέρα". "Είμαστε στον Αέρα" is mostly famous due to a popular TV-series of the late 90's which shares the name of the song and was co-written by Θοδωρής Μανίκας (thus the title song of the series title was this song).
Before Thirty Ντέρτι's only official album, Θοδωρής Μανίκας has released a solo work entitled also "Thirty Ντέρτι" which is sometimes mistaken for Thirty Ντέρτι 's first album. Adding to the confusion, this solo work of Μανίκας also featured a song titled like the album and, later, the band, Thirty Ντέρτι!
After Thirty Ντέρτι (the band), Μανίκας embarked on new, musical and not, adventures with his most notable later work being the formation of "667" and their collaboration with folk (λαικούς) singers from the greek scene, like Γιώργος Μαργαρίτης (the song "Δρόμοι του Πουθενά" gained significant radio air-time and was deemed a hit at the time), Δήμητρα Γαλάνη, Καίτη Γαρμπή and others.
Despite their brief appearance on the scene, Thirty Ντέρτι managed to release a very interesting, clearly defined and inspired piece of work that it is well worth listening to, if you ever come accross it!
