Biography
Thomas Wanker was born and raised in Graz, Austria, where he studied music from an early age. In 1992, he moved to Los Angeles to study with such renowned film composers as Jerry Goldsmith and David Raksin at the University of Southern California. Upon completing his studies, he began composing for film and television projects.
Among his film credits are "2012", "10,000 B.C." and "The Day After Tomorrow", directed by Roland Emmerich, "The Thirteenth Floor" and "Hostile Takeover", to name only a few. For television, he scored more than 40 episodes of the long-running hit series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". One of his noted pieces is Riley Leaves Sunnydale, from the 5th season episode, Into The Woods. He has also written music for a number of longform projects, recently including "Storm Tide", "Dresden", "Sins of the Father" and "RFK".
