Tijana Stanković (1984) is a vocalist and violinist from Serbia. Studied Ethnomusicology in conducting under Nice Fracile, PhD, at the Academy of Arts Novi Sad, Serbia. Collaborated with many eminent improv music artists, such are composer and viola player, Mezei Szilárd, composer and a cellist Márkos Albert, Nikolaus Gerszewski, Joel Grip, Nenad Marković, Sőrés Zsolt (Ahad), Ivan Čkonjević, etc. Currently playing and singing in Argo, rebetiko-free impro project based in Budapest, singing in Rođenice (SRB), folk music a cappella trio, Hyperion Ensemble (RO); Mezei Szilard’s Improvisers Orchestra, Túl a Tiszán Innen Ensemble, Identity’s Dream Quartet; duo with Sőrés Zsolt (Ahad) etc. The fields of her research interest include vocal and instrumental tradition of the Balcans, Ethnochoreology, improvised and popular music.
