Biography

There are at least 2 bands named Times Up.

1) UK quartet Times Up was formed back in 2006, initially consisting of Geoff Smith and Andy Gibbon but soon supplemented by the compositional and instrumental skills of Mike Hagland and Steve Leman. This veteran act, that combined have close to 100 years of experience in the trade, issued their debut album Snow Queen in the spring of 2012.

2) Times Up were a young five piece punk/rock band from Perth, Australia. The band consisted of
Ben Swain (vocals), Tim Marshall (guitar), Justin Samulski (drums), Alex Earle (bass) and Adrian Codlington (guitar).

Their sound was best described as a guitar driven rock band with punk, reggae and metal influences. Tim and Justin powered through their songs complimented by the dynamic vocal range of Ben. Times Up contributed to the local surf and skate scene by performing at events that support and encourage youth to become involved in such sports.

In March 2001 the guys acquired Alex on bass with Ben moving strictly to vocals only. By April a second guitarist, Sean, was added which gave the guys a more fuller sound. In May the boys had the main slot for Crank's WA tour and ripped through three great shows. Then they supported Throwdown, Mindsnare and Sommerset also. Their debut EP was released in October with a lineup change occuring a few weeks later with Sean leaving the band, he was replaced by Adrian from Four Feet Away.

This lineup change also brought a musical change to Times Up with a more rock sound becoming evident and a load of quality supports throughout 2002 including Secondbest, Reel Big Fish, Grinspoon, Front End Loader, One Dollar Short and culminating in the Hail Hail Hail Xmas Eve show. February 2003 started a big year for Times Up as they supported Jed Whitey for their next CD launch, the Music Not Massacre show and Silent Corporation (aka Secondbest) support. Then they launched their second EP 'The Start of Understanding' with two big shows at the Amplifier which went down well.

In 2003, after their second EP, Adrian left Times Up. After that the band went on hiatus and broke up later.
