Biography
Tjenesten ("The service") is a danish satirical group, working at the national danish radio and television (Danmarks Radio, DR). They produce a lot of material for one of the radiochannels (P3), usually making puns on recent events, hot topics and the like. There's no specific limits of their scope, so they've even made a song concerning a budget mess at DR (Vi er DR). Their songs use a well-known melody with their own lyrics, a bit like the works of Weird Al Yankovich.
Tjenesten has had several members over time, but the current setup consists of Vicki Berlin, Michael "MC" Christiansen and Thomas Dybvad (Anders Fogg).
Apart from parody songs, they make a lot of short spoken clips, either in various series or standalone jokes. These, as their songs, often reflect on the current state of the danish society.
They are also well known for the nonsense that always follows their work, an example of this is (translated) "Open another crate, we are some who has diabetes"
