Biography

Born in 1964 in Germany as child of south african refugees. Tlako started learning guitar and drums and bass guitar singing and percussion at the age of 15years.
His parents were musicians as well. They formed a band and toured many times through Germany and Italy. His musical influence started with James Brown, Isaac Hayes, The Commodors, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and many unknown south african musicians.
This influence grew with musicians like Patti Smith, Janis Joplin, The Doors, Frank Zappa, Gianna Nannini, Rush, Toto, Supertramp, Genesis, Sting, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Dream Theater and so on.

He started writing songs in the age of sixteen. With nineteen he used to earn his money buy playing for other bands in their recording sessions in different studios as guitarist and drummer.
But never could afford to record his own tracks.

A dramatic change in his life, turned his way of expressing himself with music. He turned more to rock music, trying to integrate odd rhythms into his songs as expression of disturbance and turbulance in his life.
In his music Tlako still keeps up with this expression being inspired by Dream Theater. As he says „I like listening to Rush or Dream Theater as I record their expression in my brains and generate my own output as well as I cant deny my african roots.“

His music today is to be named african inspired progressive rock.
Tlako has established his own music school and his own recording studio. He writes all his song himself, plays all the instruments himself, programms all instruments himself, sings all songs. He also produces all his songs.
