Too Green for Summer was a short-lived band in Brisbane in the late 1980s. It featured Michelle Matheson (mostly acoustic guitar), Susan Ferguson (mostly keyboards) and Judith Hunter (mostly bass), plus Andrew Bartlett on percussion. Their sound was a lo-fi pop folk style. The band members shared the lead vocal role around, and swapped around on instruments occasionally, as well as using xylophones and other percussion from time to time. It was the only formal band the three female mebers participated in. Bartlett played in other Brisbane bands from that era, including I Am Vertical and The Cutters.

Their only recorded release was a cassette of around 12 songs, recorded live onto a four track tape in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley in 1988. One track from that - I Don't Believe It - was given very belated wider release on the Rock Against Howard compilation double CD, released in the lead up to the 2004 federal election in opposition to then Australian Prime Minister, John Howard.

The song's inclusion was more to with the fact that former member Andrew Bartlett was serving in the Australian Senate at that time, rather than any particular musical merit of the song. The title "I Don't Believe It" also fitted in well with the general theme of lies and dishonesty that was widely associated with John Howard.
