Trio Töykeät was a Finnish jazz trio (1988 - 2008), comprised of Iiro Rantala (piano), Eerik Siikasaari (double bass) and Rami Eskelinen (drums). They are one of the most succesful Finnish jazz bands and have performed in concerts over 2000 times in 43 countries on all 5 continents.
Their trademark is the fusing of several musical styles, including rock, folk, classical, polka and waltz with their unique brand of jazz. The band's spokesman Rantala has often stressed that jazz doesn't allways have to be serious. Trio Töykeät's music implements cheerful melodies and musical "jokes".
The band released six albums which of their last, Wake (2005) was published on the renowned jazz label Blue Note.
