Behind this album there is more wisdom than most "black metal" albums.. The cover art shows it excellently: a man on the brink of consciousness, willing to overcome himself, necessarily alone, because nobody else can do it for him.. This is where all the safe guarantees end: leaving behind everything to in turn gain from the eternal sea everything that could yet be.. It's the struggle of becoming the Self, of transformation, as the vocals in this album show so well.. Although this man stands at the very edge of his world and remains unseen, he is also its pillar and driving force, the one who is pushing forward.. Well, yeah, in short, this is a precious album..

Thank you for explaining that. Not exactly a revelation but it makes sense. The gunfire part always throws me off, maybe its just metaphorical or in his head though.
