The Someday Songfacts reports that this was the last Beacon track to be completed after lead guitarist Sam Halliday had returned home and bassist Kevin Baird had gone off on holiday. Vocalist Alex Trimble wrote the lyrics during an American road trip before coming back into the studio the day before he went home and recording the song.
