Biography
Ty has been DJ-ing around 6 years and producing around 5. He first got into the electronic music scene, through the 80’s industrial era, with bands such as Skinny Puppy, TKK and Coil. From there, he gained exposure to Techno music. Ty lived in Pueblo, CO till the age of 18 and held a residency at Evolution Nite Club. Since this was the first night club dedicated to electronic music in that area, he was able to expose this music to an untouched audience. His residency lasted over a year, he later moved to Denver, CO in 1997 to persue his career even further and to a much larger audience.
In Denver, Ty met Koa Franconi (DJ Keoki’s brother) and decided to start a Thursday night at Tracks 2000 nightclub. From here Ty was able to spread his musical message to the masses. Tracks 2000 nightclub (Thursdays) has been one of the longest running nights in Colorado History, with the estimated amount of people around 1300 a night. Ty held this residency for 4 years until it’s recent closing for remodeling.
Ty currently plays at Vinyl Nightclub, which is the hot spot in Denver for national and international talent as well. Ty has had the experience playing numerous rave/party events in and out of the country. Places such as San Francisco, where he has had a great following, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Utah, Ohio, Colorado and Alberta, Canada. He has been able to see and experience the different cultures within the same musical element.
Ty has opened up for and headlined main time slots with almost every great DJ around. Ritchi Hawtin, Derrick May, Frankie Bones, Fatboy Slim, Josh Wink, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Max Graham, Moby, BT, Derrick Carter, Adam Freeland, Donald Glaude and the list goes on.
In 1999 Ty joined Casa Del Soul. This group of DJ’s (DJ Sensé, DJ Catt, Foxx, Little Mike and Wyatt Earp) are friends, co-workers within the Casa Del Soul Record Label, and the leading choice of talent in Colorado. Our main focus is to push innovative music to our listeners. House, Tech-house, & progressive is our main sound, but varies within these genres.
