Tyla Gang, a British pub-rock / new wave band led by ex-Ducks Deluxe member Sean Tyla, released their first double a-side single Styrofoam / Texas Chainsaw Massacre Boogie on the Stiff label in 1976. The bands debut album 'Yachtless was released in 1977 by Beserkley. By then Sean had moved to California. In 1978 the second album Moonproof followed. In the early '80's, three more albums followed on different labels. In 1983 the band broke up.
Sean continued to record in California with former Monkees member, Mike Nesmith but the hit single “Breakfast In Marin” was scuppered by a court case.
Tyla teamed up with Man’s Deke Leonard to form The Force, who produced the single “Close To A Headline”. Sean subsequently suffered a classic rockers burn out, and retired, or so was thought.
In 2003, after more than two decades, the Tyla Gang was back with a new album suitably tiled “Back In The Saddle” on Mystic records, and a batch of tour dates.
