Biography
The Union Transit Authority ( U.T.A. ) is a folk rock group formed in a high school in Stillwater MN in the early 70s when a group of young men in the choir under the direction of Dennis Brown decided to do more with their talents.
With soaring vocals and a respect for the music they toured locally for years. The folk music they covered was treated with what seems to be a personal reverence. "Friends" and "The Wedding Song" are simply brilliant.
"Some fool made a singer out of me" is a playfully irreverent tribute to Dennis Brown whom was greatly respected within the community.
The concert was held at the Stillwater High School were proceeds went towards the music program. The group disbanded and went on their own way after high school.
