I find this a step down from TAoJC. The songs are not very memorable and the lyrics kinda "blunt". It just doesn't feel very inspired.

Пожалуй, это один из лучших синтпоп альбомов, которые мне доводилось слышать в нулевых. Свежо, хитово и приятственно.

The only thing lacking from this one is the saxophone from Lost in Moments. Fuck I hate Ulver so fucking much.

Apocalypse 1993 best track? I like it that they continued the sound of the previous album.

Great album. FYI: the photography in the cover was taken from "La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc", a 1928 silent movie by Carl Theodor Dreyer. Just watched it and it is amazing.

I'm disappointed in this album. I wasn't too keen on Ulver's escapades into synth pop, but the Assassination of Julius Caesar was at least a "sensible" transition. This is just comes across like scrapped ideas. The first track, the flow of the lyrics seem like they were grabbed from a blog post, and some if not most of the instrumentation comes across demo like. Ulver, i truly believe you. Next album, one up this one from a cottage to a skyscraper.

They don't have to change their style every single album they make. There is nothing wrong with being consistent with one style, then swithing to another after a few albums. I love their Synthpop style more than anything else and i wish they would release at least one more album like this.

Oh yeah, Blood Inside is fantastic. Well, they will probably switch it up on the next album, they always do something different, but for some reason they really liked this type of song structures and the whole framework Depeche Mode made. I mean, when i look at their previous albums beyond The Assassination of Julius Caesar, all of their work was different, but had the same Ulver feel to it.

Makes me wonder what their next move will be. They've seemed to have went into a more rockish/popish route with occasional drone stuff. I almost wanna flip a coin, one side furthering this Depeche mode structure, or completely bouncing off of it onto something else. What's your prediction?

I hope they go back to their more experimental stuff they did before. While this is great and consistent, it leaves little to no room for experimentation to their music. For me, they have always evolved, but not in a consistent way that each and every album that comes after is better than the last. Some albums had highs and downs, but each had a different feeling to them, however you could always tell "This is Ulver". ATGCLVLSSCAP for example didn't even have any singing apart from the redux "Nowhere" which was more of a tribute to their previous stuff. Now don't get me wrong, i really enjoy the new stuff because it's easy to listen to, and i listen to some heavy stuff all the time, so catching a break is nice. But i don't want them to descent into the bubblegum pop zone. Messe I.X-VI.X and Terrestrials was a nice change of pace for me at the time when they were released because i didn't except something like that from them at all, especially after Wars of the Roses.

Another great one in the vein of TAoJC. The only issue I have is I wish it was longer!

Yes, another masterpiece. Though to me it was more along the lines of Wars of The Roses.
