Biography
Unit Nine are a Cambridge 5 piece metal band, formed by members of other local bands who wanted to try something different. What came out was a band drawing influences from Southern American metal bands such as Down, and British screamo bands such as Raging Speedhorn.
After only 3 gigs, Unit Nine qualified for the Cambridge Battle of the bands final 2010, eventually losing out on the first prize, but did win the audience vote for band of the night.
Their debut album "The Dead Stay the Same" is scheduled to launch on 16/10/10 with a launch party at The Portland Arms, Cambridge.
The band's 4 permanent members are Matt Redgrave on vocals, Simon Murden and Richard Peirce on guitars, Nick Squires on drums. Former bassists include Chris Squires and Tom Carter.
