I have been enjoying this band for days by now, but i think they're getting too much praise for what they offer, i've seen some people saying or even stating that this is the only ''original'' band left in the Djent scene (And some others even say that in the Prog scene) . And they do have a really good style and do things right (Like using vocoder a la Cynic) but some people often ignore that Tesseract, VIldhjarta or Monuments exist.

They are definitely not pure djent since Applause Of A Distant Crowd, so I wouldn't count them in a row with your mentioned bands. They still use djent elements but they also create some special kind of catchiness and emotions through the keys and the vocals. I compare that more to e.g. Dredg. For balancing these styles I really can't praise them enough.

I fell in love with this band at first listen. They have some kind of magic that I can’t get enough of. All members are excellent musicians, and the vocals are beautiful!! I would love to hear them in concert someday!

I saw them in concert this past week! I’m still reeling, it was amazing. My face flesh got blown off in the best way and I swear I felt my heart healing. If you have a chance to see VOLA in person, highly recommended experience

Finding it hard to decide if Witness, or Vadak by Thy Catafalque, is my AOTY. Witness was just a step up in execution, memorability, and heaviness from their already amazing previous releases. Awesome job guys!

The worst thing about "Witness" is that the choruses are so poppy and lack impact. Apart from that, it sure is an alrighty album.

I'm constantly thinking of Deftones when listening to Witness, which is a big compliment. Not because they sound alike, but VOLA seems to capture that same masterful balance between ethereal synthpop-like atmospheres and vocals and absolutely monstrous heavy riffs and grooves like Deftones does.

I think the new album is fantastic. At first it took a little getting used to because it is different than the others (don't we want different music?) but it grew on me a ton after listening over time.

The new album is better than the debut. Sure, it's a bit less heavy overall, but it's more memorable as well and there's no filler to speak of. The title track has some of the best prog metal moments I've ever heard, too.
