Biography

Victoria Burnett, known professionally as Veela, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ from Sidney, Australia. She rose to popularity during the 2010's on YouTube through providing vocals for several electronic music producers such as Ephixa, Blackmill, and Feint. She composes vocals for other producers’ songs as well as her own originals, trying to tell stories and paint pictures with her lyrics.

Veela's unique take on electropop features infectious hooks, potent dance rhythms and alluring lyrics to stunning effect. Her music also sometimes incorporates videogame references into the lyrics and/or the song itself.

She started with DJ'ing in her teens but realized she felt more comfortable providing vocals for other producers. After releasing a few songs as a vocalist, she got requests from around the world. At this point she started to produce a persona of sorts to separate her private life from her online presence. Victoria describes Veela as a "super natural being sent to earth to learn about humans love of music and art", and branded herself with her unique voice, heavy makeup and purple wig. Eventually, due to many bad encounters with stalkers both online and in person, Victoria ditched the persona in 2023, after 15 years of doing it. The look will stay, but the character will be no more.

She has also provided vocals for FL Studio in some of their demo songs, as well as other sampling studios.

She self-released her debut album ''VERSATILE'' on the 31th May 2024 and later that same year she formed a band with My City Glory called ''mad routine''. They then released their debut EP named ''in a mood''.
