Biography
Without question, Vera Gornostaeva belongs to a constellation of brilliant Russian musicians. As well as having a huge career as a classical pianist, Ms.Gornostaeva is also a dedicated teacher and enlightener: she is a prominent professor at the Moscow Conservatory, holds masterclasses in different countries, including Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, the USA, and the UK as well as annual seminars for Russian teachers in music, regularly appears on radio and TV with lectures on the classical music and performing arts, publishes numerous articles and books. She is a jury member and often chairman of the jury at many prestigious international music competitions as well as the President of the Moscow Association of Musicians.
Ms.Gornostaeva is renowned for having trained 26 winners of international piano contests such as, Alexander Slobodianik, Simeon Kruchin, Dina Ioffe, Pavel Egorov, Eteri Andzhaparidze (Russia), Ivo Pogorelich (Yugoslavia), Marian Pivka (Czech republic), Ayako Uehara (Japan), Yurie Miura (Japan) and others.
She has made numerous recordings with Philips, Fenix, Yamaha and other recording labels, featuring piano works by Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Liszt, Schumann, Schubert, Scriabin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev and Shostakovich.
