Biography
Watching the Train Wreck was formed in a basement in Kearney, NE in April of 2008, later relocating to Omaha in July. Original members include Ben Allen on guitar and vocals, brothers Kevin and Scott Cline on bass and drums, and later adding Jack Bailey on lead guitar. After Scott's leaving to play bass with Brimstone Howl, they added Jeff Lambelet to play drums. Scott still fills in once in a while when Jeff is on tour with Digital Leather.
Their sound is drawn from an older, more raw, and political style punk, with influences that include The Wipers, Velvet Underground, The Exploited, Joy Division, Black Flag, '77-style punk, as well as local heroes and friends such as The Shanks, Brimstone Howl, Ric Rhythm and the Revengers, The Terminals, and Digital Leather.
In March 2010, they started their own record label, Rainy Road Records, releasing limited edition 7" records and cassettes. Since then they have released their first two 7"s, as well as Brimtone Howl's Singles Collection on cassette. With worldwide distribution, including sales and trades all over the US, France, Italy, Germany, Japan and even as far as Australia, this is only the beginning! Upcoming releases include The Shanks b-sides and rarities cassete, and The Fucken Snakes ep on cassette.
