Biography

Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Al "The Monster" Montana was already a full grown man when he decided it's time to start writing his own music. While rock music was a major part of his family's musical tradition when he was young ( he's cited George Harrison, Van Morrison and Roy Orbison as particular favorites ) , in his early teens Montana developed a taste for many other music styles, such as jazz, folk, delta blues and punk rock. Following his graduation in 2000, he began studying. While at college, he discovered Bob Dylan. And that was a true turnover for him. He started writing songs soon after he heard "Don't think twice it's allright". The very next day he bought a guitar and started fingerpicking. It was a mighty experience. He learned from itself. After few months, the songs just came out. Many, many new songs.

Through his chatartic and emotional tales of anger, passion, love, theft and bad wine, he finally rediscovered himself and formed Waterwine in early 2005. He plays music that is something like Nick Drake after meeting Ryan Adams after late night drinking. The leading force behind this creation is Al Montana. He writes songs, sings and plays the guitar. He's a man with a vision, a vision of unique music style, which he named cathartic pop-rock.

All songs are played with guitar he bought when he was studying. The guitar cost about 40 $ and is really hard to play because it produces strange noises.
