About the Australian band:
Benedict met Simon Sieradzki in 2002, and decided to work on some songs to play together. Under the name White Paper they started playing shows as a three-piece, with Simon on drums and Andrew Higginson on bass. In mid 2003 Rachell Pirnie took over on drums, and Simon switched to electric guitar. White Paper played as a four-piece for the next six months, and then recorded seven songs with Simon Struthers. Soon afterwards various commitments took the members of the band in different directions, so Benedict decided to leave the recordings aside, while working on his new solo album.

In late 2005, the White Paper recordings were finalised, and the album was launched at the North Perth Town Hall. By this time Rachell Pirnie had been living in Melbourne for twelve months, and the band had not played live shows for some time. In addition, Simon had sliced open his hand on New Year's Eve, and wasn't quite up to playing guitar. At the launch Benedict played with a range of guests, including Daniel Marano on guitar and Cameron Sim on pedal steel. Jamie Cosman had his chromatic harmonica handy, so Simon used this to join in for a couple of songs, sitting on the stage floor, with his arm still in a sling.
