Wicked Star sees the light of the day in January 2003 at the time of a decisive jam in which three guys from St-Hyacinthe (Montreal) devote themselves entirely to a musical style long forgotten: pure Hard Rock. The three musicians met via Shotgun Ric (Éric) in his basement during a jam with friends. It’s following this evening that Shotgun Ric, Gab Power (Gabriel) and Rooster (Alex) form the band named Wicked Star. The fusion of the three artists was instantaneous and the boys decided to push the musical experience even further. Quickly, songs were composed by Rooster. Gab Power and Shotgun Ric add their talent and their final touch so; each jam session was getting better.

The first show was held at the “La Combine”, a bar in St-Hyacinthe. With their short repertoire of five songs just completed Wicked Star held the stage for one hour, encouraged by the full house of fans and the beers which flowing freely. This being the bands first show it was a huge success.

Following this electrifying show Wicked Star went into the Exode recording studio for a period of three mouths to record their first demo album, the launch of the demo was held at the “Rock N Sport” on April 16th in St-Hyacinthe, almost one year later the band continues to promote the demo album by giving concerts everywhere and anywhere. The fans at each show remain speechless after the performance of the trio which proposes an heavy and groovy mix of Rock, fans of Nirvana, Guns N Roses, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pantera and Primus unearth in the band a sound which has long evaporated from the present music scene. The fans in attendance in no way feel cheated out of a good show.

In 2005 Wicked Star is ready to rock the Casbah, with a show which will give you goose bumps. Newly acquired experience starting to be felt by the band members their confidence in one another growing they are no longer apprehensive or scared about giving a rocking and exhilarating show. In fact the fans should be the ones who feel scared or apprehensive of the show they will see. Several shows were given including opening for Groovy Aardvark during their farewell tour in May 2005.

Their second album was recorded at the Exode studio’s in the summer of 2005, included on the album where the demos re-recorded and re-mastered, and of course several new songs. Once completed, the new album included 16 songs with a total 69 minutes of playing time. Wicked Star played a costumed show at a Halloween concert given at cégep of St-Hyacinthe. The band had the pleasure of playing along with Lucien Francoeur. Wicked Star is returning to the local scene with a new album and a firm intention of having there music played strong and heard loud. A formal concert to launch the album is in the works for the near future.
