Biography
Wilson Logan Band was formed in the bowels of America (the town of Daphne, Alabama) in January of 2006. The short-lived group consisted of vocalist Wilson Logan, guitarist Jason Hughes, and bassist Scott Hare. They lasted a little over four months, producing a seven-track self-recorded EP entitled "The First," which they distributed for free by hand. The group was known for Logan's spastic, improvised lyrics–tirades on subjects as diverse as Aquafina water, words comprised of only three letters, and no-smoking areas–and the musical accompaniment of long-time friends and fellow musicians Hughes and Hare.
The Wilson Logan Band rehearsed and recorded in a church basement. They eventually disbanded after they failed to recruit a drummer, and the members went their separate ways. Hughes and Hare formed Juice Bean City, recording only one track together (with a lineup shuffle: the Hare-penned track was sung by Hare, and he played guitar. Hughes played bass and later recorded a drum track. The song is called "Black Marble Epic." It, as well as a collection of demos and microcasette recordings from the duo can be found at "www.myspace.com/hughesandhare). In May of 2006, Hughes relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. Hare and Logan remained in Alabama, but have not as of yet chosen to reunite without Hughes. Hare is still pursuing other musical endeavors, while Wilson Logan is pursuing other magical endeavors. And has been for quite some time now.
There are scant surviving copies of "The First" EP, but four of the seven tracks can be heard at "www.myspace.com/wilsonlogan
