Biography
Xavier Baró is a Catalan folk musician who plays a kind of music that recalls the ancient trobadoresc music from Catalonia as Apel Mestres, archetype of modernism and surrealistic music, did on the past. He also take influences from American folk figures like Bob Dylan or Lou Reed. Also the British Nick Drake who was referenced in one of his compositions.
Xavier Baró has a style with its own personality. He's most known characteristics are his lyrics that range from fatalism to melancholic and beautiful melodies.
Has adapted several popular songs like 'La Presó de Lleida' and ‘Romanç d’en Vinaixa’ from Jaume Arnella. Also published in 2002 'Xavier Baró sings Arthur Rimbaud' another of his literary references.
Currently, the musician plays alone or in a band called L'Art de la Troba: Ramon Godes, guitar, acordió, Moog and Victor Verdu, keyboards.
