Xprime is a home-grown band from Niagara formed in the summer of 2009. The band has written songs inspired by their lives in the Niagara Region and the people they encounter. Now, after three years of refining the craft, Xprime released its first EP (Here We Are) in January 2012 at a successful release party in Niagara Falls. Their sound, best described as “Feel Good Funk/Rock” is the result of the meshing of each member’s playing styles and backgrounds. From Neil’s bass and Phil’s drums locking together to create the Funky backdrop to Xprime’s signature sound to Gab’s rock & roll oriented writing styles and catchy melodies, to Steph’s catchy riffs and melodies sung by his guitar. Yet there’s still that one element that makes Xprime special; the harmonies. All four members of the band are vocalists and step up to the microphone at some point or another in their songs. Whether it’s to sing a harmony or to take the lead, Xprime offers vocal diversity in their songs that keeps the music changing! The band is currently working on some new music for a second EP by the end of 2012 and playing shows around Ontario to promote their first EP Here We Are (available on iTunes by March 2012).
