Biography

Known for her psychedelic, bass-heavy music, comedic and smart lyricism, Rage is dubbing herself the "Pioneer of Rage-Trap", the genre that she has created and been dabbling within for the last couple of years. Setting a precedented standard for upcoming future artists to look up to.

Born in Harrisburg, North Carolina on the 11th of January 2005, XxxRage more commonly known as Rage started making music as early as 2018 but never gave any serious attempt at pursuing it as a hobby or career until 2020, when she started making more and more early music which was more along the genre of Melodic Rap, this music would never be released. In 2022, Rage's debut song 'TELL ME YOU LOVE ME' hit streaming platforms, and over three months, hit 1k streams. The start of a decent line of success on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music for the underground artist, who was creating a following slowly but surely. Eventually dropping 4 albums, all proceeding to vary in genre, size, and style, and all being an improvement from the last as Rage found her sound. In 2023 came four new albums from the artist with the most well-received being Thieves N Beggars 1 in March of that year. As XxxRage's popularity grows, her sound continues to improve. Self-dubbed "Mrs. 54" along with her other alter ego "King Schmeekie", both of which have a distinct sound and personality to each other and to Rage as a person.

XxxRage AKA Triple X, Rage, or just Schmeekie, started making music on a whim because of her rough upbringing. Being born into a chaotic, and unruly household, being born the oldest. Rage always had to stand out and always felt the need to prove herself. Referring to the true reasons being a multitude of things like bullying, a bad home life, and trouble in the popularity department. Rage had tried many hobbies before such as pursuing professional sports, playing a couple of years on her school's football team, a soccer team, volleyball, and even tried her hand at baseball and basketball. Though finding little to no success there, she tried taking up drawing and singing, eventually downloading an app called Smule which she states was the biggest reason, aside from her mother who was a stage performer who had a past with opera, for her success in the music genre. Her interest bleeding into the rap genre started at around 12, when she had little to almost no interest in it beforehand as she was more of a fan of alternative music. Artists such as Fetty Wap, Travis Scott, Quavo, Dr. Dre, and Eminem were her biggest openers to the genre. Eventually, during the boom of a rapper known as Yeat, she found her true inspiration to make music.

Writing full-length albums into her notes app on her small Samsung galaxy in early 2020-2021 is how Rage would start her journey into making rap, originally wanting to pursue a more melodic-trap based sound, shifting to the hard Trap vocals and catchy adlibs of the new wave of rappers of plugg and house trap. Notably Summrs, Yeat, Septembersrich, Che, and others. Releasing her first song onto streaming platforms titled "Tell Me You Love Me" despite being her most popular and most streamed song to date, the song held up negatively with bad vocal mixing, a less than favorable hook, and layering that ultimately hindered the song where it needed to be. Despite these flaws, the track has done very well for itself, amassing a couple thousand in the first year of its release as it continues to be her most streamed song to date.

In 2022, Rage announced that she was Trans, something she hinted at in certain songs of hers, although never mentioned outright until up to that point. This ultimately became the catalyst for a more personal side of her which ultimately bled into her music, being more open with her sexuality in certain lyrics and even being the sole reason for certain songs to even exist. Claiming "While I'm not personal, at least publically, with these things, I do address them and need my ways to be respected." With 2022 posing not much in terms of growth or anything at all musically from her, she'd end up going on a 4 album run in 2023 along with a myriad of singles and even an EP which saw her delve into the techno-core scene Hyperpop, titled "She".

Now popular in her residing state of Florida, Rage continues to make music with a litany of genres and sounds under her belt with an unwavering small fanbase who continue to wait for the next big title. With her announcement and eventual release of her sequel album to TNB1, being 'Thieves N Beggars 2' which dropped in January of 2024 to the highest success rate of any of her past albums, she pushes the modicum of her style with a wide vocal range, sturdy falsettos and a satisfying vocal fry in many of her newer tracks which truly have made her stand out musically from the rest of the pack. Dabbling in 80's funk inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind, & Fire. To the melodic trappy nature of artists such as Don Toliver or Tyler, The Creator.

This exposure gained her the eyes of bigger underground creators such as Fallen Prevail and Lil Figurative. Whom she continues to work alongside. This exposure eventually led to her joining of former record label turned artist collective dubbed "The Otherground" consisting of those listed above, as well as other upcoming artists and Producers such as WrathOfKane, JayOh, Pty, Destro, and more, where she continues to push ahead of the pack and prove to the doubters that she is here to stay within the scene.

With more music on the way as announced by Rage, she continues to push the medium and one-up herself every time, truly making her one to look out for on the roster of upcoming, underground artists.
