Biography

Yanakoto Sotto Mute (ヤなことそっとミュート), or ヤナミュー (Yanamyu) for short, is a Japanese group formed in 2016 as a sister group to BELLRING少女ハート (Bellring Shoujo Heart) under the record label クリムゾン印刷 (Crimson Printing). Their musical style is rooted in , with additional influences ranging from a wide variety of other rock subgenres.

The initial lineup for Yanakoto Sotto Mute consisted of Mamiya Mani, Minami Ichika, and former meltia member Mizuki Nadeshiko. They made their live debut in Tokyo on 18 June 2016, followed by the release of their first studio recording, 8CM EP, on 23 August. In September, former 3776 member Mochizuki Rena was added to the group and she debuted with the release of Sealing EP on 26 November.

2017 saw Yanamyu embark on their first tour, the Like a Bubble Tour, in March. The final stop of this tour, on the 26th in Shibuya, was recorded and released on DVD 3 months later. Following the tour, Yanamyu released their debut full-length studio album, BUBBLE, on 05 April. Then, in August, the group made their first ever appearance at Tokyo Idol Festival and released STAMP EP on the 16th of the same month. To end the year, a venue exclusive album, STAMP ON, was released on 11 November followed by the single echoes on 22 December.

Yanamyu continued their productive schedule into 2018 and released a DVD of their second oneman live at AKASAKA BLITZ on 31 March. They then released their third studio album, MIRRORS, on 01 June. In August, the group performed for the first time in North America as part of the East Meets West Music Fest in Anaheim, California. Upon their return to Japan, Yanamyu released a series of 3 singles, dubbed the "Humoresque" series, with one single being released each month from October to December.

Yanamyu resumed their semi-monthly singles release trend in 2019, with the gradual release of the "Nine" series beginning in May. During this time, they released their third live DVD, THE GATE Live at ZeppDiverCity, as well as the album Humoresque (ユモレスキ), which contained the collection of singles the group had released the previous year. On 6 August, Rena departed the group, with management citing her difficulty in balancing her academics with her commitments as an idol. The group continued as a trio for the remainder of the year while auditions were held for a replacement. On 16 December, it was announced that new member Rin Tsukasa had joined the group. She made her debut appearance on the 29th, which coincided with the release of the 7th single in the "Nine" series.

On 25 Jan 2020, it was announced that Yanamyu had signed a major record deal with Universal Music Group and would be releasing their first single under the label on 25 March. Their first major album under the label, Beyond the Blue, was released on 23 December, 2020.

In March of 2021, Tsukasa left Yanamyu in order to focus on her higher education. Her subsequent replacement, Ayaka, joined the group on May 22nd.

On April 22nd, Yanamyu announced that they will disband at the end of their YSM SIX tour on June 26th.
