Biography

There are 3 Groups called Yesterday's Heroes:

1) A special duo project featuring Haco (vocals, effects) and Terre Thaemlitz (electronics, voice).

Yesterday's Heroes' debut album 1979 (released on La Louche in 2004) is an ambitious and unique pop collaboration between two artists who are better known for their experimental work. The concept called for the two of them to form a 1979-early 1980s new wave group and perform as younger, inexperienced versions of ourselves. Not quite Thaemlitz, not quite Haco, but a kind of "after-school" album. The songs, which have been described as "New Wave opera," recall classic techno-pop and industrial beats, but also seem to overlap with the coolness of today.

2) Yesterday's Heroes is a powerpunk/electrodeathcore band based in Brockport/Spencerport, New York, with all of it's members still in high school. Their debut album the Live and Die EP is scheduled to release sometime in late 2007 or early 2008. Members include:

John Robson: Singing/Synth
Mike Hamlin: Screaming
Joey Decker: Guitar/Programming
Nate VanDeusen: Guitar
Dave Johnson: Bass Guitar
John "Space Danish" Murch: Drums

The band started off as In This Day, but because of a lack of members and the addition of screamer Mike Hamlin, they changed their name to the current one. You can expect more work from them in the near future. you can check them out on myspace as well. http://myspace.com/printermoniter

3) YESTERDAY'S HEROES: BOSTON, MA. UNITED STATES

Andrew Fortier: Vocals/Guitar
Jamie Payette: Vocals/Bass
Kevin Gallant: Guitar/Vocal
Kevin 'Vin' Byers: Drums/other

The Brief Overview:
Yesterday's Heroes is a band hailing from a town north of Boston MA (U.S.A.) surrounded by nothing but farmland, old mill buildings and the occasional highway. Steering clear from the stereotypical love songs of pop-punk, and anarchist mantra that most people associate with punk rock, Yesterday's Heroes takes their own experiences and forms them into a unique, driving, hard hitting form of punk rock. From songs about their favorite pub, to the problems we're all facing with the economy, Yesterday's Heroes has songs everyone can relate to and enjoy.

The Influences:
Yesterday's Heroes as a whole draws from bands such as The Street Dogs, The Clash, The Briggs, and Cocksparrer. Where collectively they have some like-influences separately they have some which differ very much so from each other. Jamie and Kevin undoubtedly draw from bands such as The Clash, Cocksparrer, and older British punk, and it can comfortably said that Andrew takes a lot of his writing and guitar work from bands such as The Street Dogs, and the Dropkick Murphys to more Blues driven artists. Off setting all of this is Vin's heavy influence from glam-punk bands such as Red Invasion, and monochrome punks The Black Halos, to poppier yet darker bands in the likes of Alkaline Trio. Taking all of these influences and combining them into one has made Yesterday's Heroes a uniquely recognizable band in the young punk scene of today.
