Yip-Yip is an experimental/electronic duo from Orlando, FL. Formed in 2001 when two friends, Brian Esser and Jason Temple, started making music by experimenting with toy keyboards and circuit bent instruments.
In the early years the band was mainly a recording project, until they started playing live shows in 2003. Around that time the two began shaping their unique sound by collecting and using any vintage synthesizers, drum machines, and effects they could find. This genre-defying music has led the band to tour and play shows with a variety of bands, including The Locust, Melt Banana, Lightning Bolt, Dan Deacon, ADULT., Animal Collective, and many more.
Their unfluences and music taste can be seen at their own last.fm userpage: Yip-Yip.
The band has released seven albums under this name and one album as SCUD NIPS.
The last album, BONE UP, is available at: http://yip-yip.bandcamp.com
Brian Esser participated in a band Moon Jelly and is now performing under the name Cabo Boing.
