Yo Harding

Yo Harding is a Japanese Windian singer songwriter who has been performing professionally in Japan and US.
She plays and sings in Japanese, English, and also in the languages of the wind.

Her performances are officially seen in many places like churches, buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, schools. mountains, united nations, bars, cafes, MMA, hospitals, waterfalls, and more, and the music changes flexibly by places.

Poetry reading also has a reputation, In addition to being used in the artist's album and songs, in 2017 it is also used for the Paris collection of the clothing brand "BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE" and it was highly evaluated "it seems to be a contemporary art "

She mainly sings solo with the overdubbing voice effecter, and also as a vocalist in Hotel New Tokyo, and HIDETAKE TAKAYAMA Band. She sometimes compose CM music.

She moved to New York at the age of 19.
She strolled into the church in Harlem, and met Ouida Harding, who is a gospel organist, a music minister, and a grammy award winner for a gospel album with Cissy Houston ‘The Cissy Houston Collection’ (1996).

1999
She started her music career as a gospel singer in a benefit concert in the Carnegie Hall, and toured around churches in US and sang gospel with Dr. Ouida Harding

2000
She sung solo and with a choir in Convent Ave. Baptist Church on the birthday of Mr.Martin Luther King Jr., and got a big applause from Hillary Clinton and David Dinkins.

2001
She signed a contract with the Japanese major record company Nippon Crown, and released 3 singles.

2002
She won a first Japanese winner for Soloist of the year at Dr.Thomas A Dorsey Convention.
She appeared as regular DJ and personalty on the radio program ‘Gospel Spirit’ in Inter FM ‘Early Bird’.

2004
She sung both the Japanese and American national anthems at PRIDE 2004 ( Japanese most biggest MMA, which carried out in the number of the general mobilisation that it was the first among Saitama Super Areane at this year )on the new year’s eve for the match Hidehiko Yoshida VS Rulon Gardner.

2008
She formed ‘Spoon child’ ( female duo group )and gave performances in music festivals like Minami Wheel and Japanese biggest organic music festival "Green Room Festival".

2009
She sung on the stage in RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL. ( biggest music festival in Hokkaido )
She released the SPOON CHILD’s 1st album ‘SPOONS’.

2011
She sung at Shanti Ustav Festival in Nepal, and at GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP SUMIT Closing ceremony in United Nations NY.
She formed ‘Yo Harding with love band’ ( with Hidetake Takayama on keyboard and Kensaku from Razoku on drums )

2012
She was featured on HIDETAKE TAKAYAMA 2nd album ‘Asterism’.

2013
She joined in Hotel New Tokyo and released 3rd album ‘Yes?’
She was featured on BS Japan program sound track album ‘GRACE OF JAPAN’.
She was featured on Japanese reggae What’s Love? album ‘WA YO SKA?’.
She sung in GREENROOM CAMP’13 as HIDETAKE TAKAYAMA band.

2014
She sung at White Noise Record 10th Anniversary Live in Hong Kong, and at Japanese biggest music festival FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL , both as Hotel New Tokyo.

2015
First solo album " Windian" release

First solo live show in New York@Ouchi Gallery

2016
She sung at Toe Asian tour in Hong Kong, and FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, both as Hotel New Tokyo.

She moved to Paris.
