Biography
There are three artists with the name Yogurt: the American band, the Slovenian Rock band, and Matty Luv (with various collaborators).
1) Originally the passion project of songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Yegor Borisenko, Yogurt formed as a functional band in 2021. Based in Los Angeles, they started performing live in 2022, and released their first EP "Tropical Depression" in 2023. Yogurt is characterized by guitar-driven songs, with a heavy emphasis on melodies and tightly interwoven riffs, layered over energetic drums and driving bass lines. Recent releases include 3 singles ("Woah," "Breaking Ground" and "Pity Party" in 2024) as well as a collaboration with Giant Killer Bats ("Good Luck," 2023).
2) Electro/Acoustic/Rock band Yogurt was formed in the year of 2000. They have released 3 albums - Brez kisika (2001), Elektrika (2005) and Absint (2007). The Yogurt's main characteristic is the combination of electronic produced sounds and the acoustic hard rock quartet. Their trademark is also absolute independency in the process of making lyrics, music, videos, and other art related work. The guitarist Marko Zorec is Yogurt's main songwriter and sound producer, all albums were recorded at his home studio. Mirna Bogdanovic on vocal and piano is the band's main figure on the stage. Danijel Rajh on bass guitar and Denis Jancic on drums are the Yogurt groove section.
3) Yogurt wasn't really a band. It was the name given to Matty Luv's home 4 track recordings.
