Biography
Yuzuriha is a metalcore band from the Akabane area in Tokyo, Japan. They were originally members of the light music club in high school, and when they wanted to make the band full-fledged, they formed the band name "Yuzuriha", which means "rebirth" in the language of flowers. Yuzuriha was formed in 2018 by former member Yutaka (currently the vocalist of Beyond Ghosts), along with drummer Shouta, guitarist Kazuki and bassist Wada. Yutaka and Shouta left the band, and the band now consists of Natsume as the vocalist, Kazuki as the guitarist, and Wada on bass.
Each member of Yuzuriha has different musical backgrounds and influences. Natsume's roots lie in Vocaloid, specifically being influenced by ゆよゆっぺ. Kazuki was inspired by blues guitarists such as Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix and now draws inspiration from bands like Currents and While She Sleeps. Wada's interest in music began with the anime "K-ON" and started a Maximum the Hormone cover band known as おしゃめがね (Oshamegane) in the high school light music club before forming Yuzuriha.
When creating a song, Yuzuriha takes various steps. Kazuki draws inspiration from animation, movies, and novels to create a particular sound and atmosphere. Natsume listens to Kazuki's demos and writes lyrics that reflect his thoughts and feelings. The band then collaborates with producer Raku Taura to refine the musicality of the song.
Although Yuzuriha primarily focuses on metalcore, they admire bands like PROMPTS for their charisma and performance, regardless of genre. Their second single 落日 (Rakujitsu) was released on March 1, 2020. The song was composed by Kazuki, with lyrics by Natsume. It was produced by Raku Taura of SOULJAPAN. The theme of "Rakujitsu" revolves around reminiscence and cherishing memories. Yuzuriha held a release party for the single at SHIBUYA GARRET on March 1. It was a significant moment for the band, as they performed alongside bands they admired and had the opportunity to fulfill their musical aspirations.
