Zachary Walker Hanson (born October 22, 1985 in Arlington, Virginia) is a member of the band Hanson. In addition to playing the drums, percussion, piano, and guitar, he also sings backing vocals and lead vocals on the album, The Walk.
Zachary Walker Hanson was born on October 22, 1985, in Arlington, Virginia. He is the third child of Clarke Walker Hanson and Diana Frances Hanson. Hanson was originally a two-member band, with Clarke Isaac and Jordan Taylor, but Zac soon joined at age six to complement his brothers' two-part harmony.
In 2000, Hanson dated international pop rock singer Marion Raven. In August 2000, he was introduced to model Kathryn "Kate" Tucker. The two began dating in 2001 and their relationship continued for four years before Hanson proposed in January 2005. Their engagement lasted fifteen months before they were married on June 3, 2006, in a private ceremony held at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
His siblings include Isaac Hanson(Clarke Isaac), Taylor Hanson(Jordan Taylor), Jessica Grace, Avery Laurel, Joshua Mackenzie, and Zoë Genevieve.
Zac's just recently become a Dad to son John Ira Shepherd (b. May 27, 2008). He also has four nephews, Jordan Ezra Hanson (b. October 31, 2002) and River Samuel Hanson (b. September 4, 2006), both fathered by brother Taylor. Clarke Everett Hanson (b. April 3, 2007) and James Monroe Hanson (b. July 1, 2008) are fathered by eldest brother Isaac and his wife, Nikki. He also has a niece, Penelope Anne Hanson (b. April 19, 2005), middle child of brother Taylor.
Sister-in-law Natalie is pregnant with her fourth child, a boy; the baby's due in December 2008.
