It might be because one of the first goth songs was "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus, and i guess other goth bands are referencing the Bauhaus song? Also like most goth bands cite Bauhaus as an influence. Or it could just be that Bela Lugosi was the Dracula actor, and gothic rock's themes take a lot of inspiration from gothic literature, but that wouldn't really explain the dead thing (i mean apart from the fact hes dead) but I'm not really sure.
