Biography
American Hyenas is thomas way, a musician in tucson, arizona. The music consists of variations of easy, lo-fi electronic and soft vocals, to layered noise and spastic yelling. Way plays a Roland Juno-6 Polyphonic Synthesizer, as well as various other instruments used to create racket, including a nose flute, kazoo, and several antique bowls from India. His two biggest influences are Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu, and Johnny Whitney of The Blood Brothers and Jaguar Love. He also cites Freddy Ruppert (Former Ghosts), Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), and several of his close friends as greatly influential in his sound.
His debut EP, "We're Not Getting Any Younger," was released after much delay, in January of 2010.
Way is currently working on a full-length self-titled record to be released this year.
