I have never experienced a more chaotic and frenetic moment than during this song at their concert in Santiago

For the longest time I was pronouncing this song as 'John L', only recently realizing that the L is Roman numerical for 50.

Don't like inclusion of horns and violin in the mix, creates this awful high stabby effect when played loud enough. It's weird since I love mixing on hellfire and the rest of cavalcade. Sounds way better live

John L is just the roman numeral way of saying John 50, which is a reference to John 1:50: “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that. Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man.” The song is abstractly written about the beginning of the end in a prophetic sense. The title of the album "Cavalcade" is reference to the procession of horses leading the ceremonial end, which are the Horseman of the apocalypse, and the album ends with Ascending Forths, which in title speaks for it's self, but it also a play on words because of the musical cadence of ascending fourths, which I think, is a direct reference to Leonard Cohen's, Hallelujah.

*Vaas’s voice in the background* “Do you know the definition of insanity?” This. This is insane. And I love it.
