everything means nothing, previously known as 'sad but chillin' and 'i feel bad', is a two-part energetic electropop album from blackbear following his singles “hot girl bummer,” “me & ur ghost,” and “queen of broken hearts.”
Presumably to establish consistency across the project, every track includes a production credit by hitmaker FRND and blackbear, the masterminds of the album. Long-term producer Aaron Harmon, Joe Kirkland, Jordan Reyes, and even electronic DJ Marshmello lend their talent as well.
The project features collaborations with Trevor Daniel on “clown” and Lauv on “if i were u” in the latter half.
On March 21, 2020, blackbear announced that he finished everything means nothing via his Instagram story. Part one was released on July 17, 2020, followed by the full release on August 21, 2020.
