Biography
Pop Punk band from Glasgow, UK.
Eightpagepullout consists of 4 members, who have been long time friends from school days, flat mates and best friends. The band all originated from Oban, on the west coast of Scotland, but now all live in Glasgow. The early material was highly influenced by outfits such as Greenday and Blink 182, in both music and image meaning the band was in the early days a barefaced Pop-punk band.
Finding their feet, and developing their musical tastes and abilities have lent to a drastic change in sound. The current sound of Eightpagepullout draws qualities from a diverse range of bands, musicians and genres alike, leading to a polished, diverse sound that they can call their own.
The overall style can be pinned as Anthemic Punk Pop Rock, built upon a strong rhythm section of fluent, diverse drum patterns and complimenting intriguing bass lines. The guitars combine to produce an epic, anthemic, overall sound, with crunchy rhythm, and atmospheric leads. The vocals are dense and strong, and are primarily melody driven, with a sound that has evolved from being highly
‘American’, to one that pays homage to their native Scottish roots.
The past has seen eightpagepullout play all around the U.K on self funded and organised tours, encompassing every major city and town in the U.K. They learned a great deal about ‘life on the road’, sleeping in their van, living in each others pockets and dealing with all aspects of organisation themselves. Their shows have taken them all over the UK and Europe.
The band have been privileged enough to play sell-out shows with the likes of Rufio, Spunge, The Damned and 4ft Fingers, which again have been valued experiences for the band.
Eightpagepullout are special in terms of background, belief, determination, and aspiration. The band have been best friends since school days, and have lived together in shape or form for 6 years. The term ‘band’ means a great deal to eightpagepullout, in more ways than just a musical sense. A notion of family plays a major role, with the overriding ethos of ‘we’re going to make it together, or not at all’.
Musically, the band is different. They haven’t subscribed to any tried and tested musical style, and are still developing something they want to call their own. In terms of determination, eightpagepullout have been together for 6 years, and aren’t going to abolish any time soon. The band is aspiring to the highest
level, a natural consequence of the determination and commitment. They firmly believe that they have what it takes to take their music to a high level.
Eightpagepullout have recently signed to Lockjaw Records and are to be releasing an EP with them, entitled Stand Up. This EP is to receive full national press coverage and will help to make the band better known and allow them to reach an even bigger audience. To coincide with the EP’s launch on 17th March 08, the band will be touring throughout the rest of the year.
