Biography
Fuguers Cove is a one-man, lo-fi garage punk/psych-pop band based in Albuquerque, NM and founded in a Chicago-area bedroom in 1995. Influenced early on by Robert Pollard and early Beck, FC put out cassettes of lo-fi acoustic pop and noise. Later, Fuguers Cove released a 7" (Get Your Wings) on Downers Grove, Illinois-based MOC records. In 1997, with an ad-hoc back-up band, Fuguers Cove performed at the legendary and defunct Lounge Ax in Chicago. FC was set to release a CD (Field Goal is Wise like Chicks) in 1998, but this never manifested. Fuguers Cove went on hiatus in 2001. In 2014, FC returned, releasing Knights of June in February 2015, Gulf of Paria in June 2015, Johnny & Kay in January 2016, and 5 new albums and 1 new EP in June 2016. Sounds like: lo-fi, garage-y reverb, punk grit, high desert psych, and pop melodics channeled through a Tascam DP 008-EX.
