Biography

“I Was Given Feet To Follow You” is the project of 28-year-old California native Dylan Andersen. With a penchant for ambient noise, underlying melody, and odd distraction, Andersen has cast his biggest shadow yet: a DIY ambient/post-rock project with the aim of introducing the world to his form of reality.

Started as an idea after the exit from his post-hardcore band, Capistrano, in mid-2007, “I Was Given Feet To Follow You” was the perfect outlet to use to continue to write music on his own terms. With the release of the 73-minute instrumental LP, "Little Bear" in 2013, Andersen set the bar extremely high for himself for his debut release. Almost exactly one year later, the follow-up to "Little Bear" was released in the form of the sophomore EP, "I Love You, Forever".

It is on "I Love You, Forever" that Andersen is at his most raw and vulnerable, using places and moments in his life to tell the story of heartbreak, loss, and new beginnings. With the titles of tracks referring directly to real places in California, Andersen uses 7 tracks and nearly 30 minutes of ethereal soundscapes to bring this story to life. Easily his most matured and realized effort, "I Love You, Forever" is Andersen's push to a new level of sound not seen elsewhere in the post-rock/ambient music scene. If "I Love You, Forever" is any indication of what's to come for Andersen and his jarring-yet-satisfying foray into post-rock, it will be interesting to see what 2015 holds in store for fans.

We’re not sure whose feet are following whose, but we’re inclined to put our ear to the ground to listen and find out
