Biography
iamthefood (earlier: Kloszardzi) is a young, polish indie band representing the musical scene of Łódź, Poland. Originally the project was a two-piece band. It started in 2007 as Kloszardzi, when they played a few acoustic gigs across Poland. In 2009 the ensemble changed their name to iamthefood and recorded a debut single 'Llama song'. Since then, one of the members has played two solo gigs as iamthefood. In late 2009, a couple of home-recorded demo songs were released through the internet as 'Songs About Love and Masturbation'. It was revealed that only one of the members took part in the recordings. Fans used to believe that these works were just a foretaste of a debut longplay, which was said to be released sometime in 2010. There were also rumours about a tour across Poland with a symphonic orchestra. However, the remaining member of iamthefood announced that the project has no longer existed since early 2010.
In 2012 one of the members of the band joined the polish gangsta rap band HPU which later transformed into a dancehall soundsystem Irie Vybz Mafia.
Music created by iamthefood was a powerful mixture of electronica and shoegaze with some elements of funk, jazz and traditional jewish music.
