There are at least two artists using the name nightowl:
1. NightOwl is a 4 member Japanese idol group from Osaka. The group was formed in 2019 and originally consisted of three members: Orihara Io (Japanese: 折原伊桜), Momoshiro Rinon (Japanese: 百城凛音), and Amaya Ako (Japanese: 雨夜憧). Two new members, Hasegawa Kana (Japanese: 長谷川嘉那) and Mochizuki Sakura (Japanese: 望月さくら), joined in 2021, with the latter graduating from the group in October. The group released their EP 不完全な夜でも in 2022 and are currently touring with other idol groups.
2. nightowl had his own solo project in 2004 - 2005 where he released two albums, "The view from the top" and "Terra incognita", before forming the epic virtual band The X-Structure in 2008 with fellow adventurers Starrzan, Chacma and Epic Beard. In the band he sets the mood and creates the atmospheric soundscapes through pads, keys and strings.
In 2011 he joined up with The X-Structure's netlabel, Bushmen Records, and re-released his first 2 albums under the name "sir nightowl". He then went on to release a series of 3 previously unreleased albums, which he also created in 2005, called "The lost songs of nightowl".
3. Nightowl is an electronic music project by Aidan Chick. Inspired by the works of Daft Punk, Justice, and internet acts such as Fibre and ev.exi, the Nightowl project is a blend of Disco House/French House and the more contemporary styles of Future Funk.
Beginning in 2020 as a Pop and House fusion, the Nightowl project has since grown to encompass more retro-infused genres.
