Bringing back party music with a Soundcloud twist, Phreshboyswag is a recording artist and producer from North London, United Kingdom. He currently resides in New York City, U.S. in order to live closer to his family and friends, and him himself saying in an interview that “this is where the emotion’s at right now”.
Starting his career out in mid 2019, phreshboyswag started out in the underground scene with songs such as “Surphing (Freestyle)”, which can be found on any platform, and “Because Of U”, which can only be found on Soundcloud. He’s also produced under the alias “DJ TEEN”. Recently, the songs "inspire", "she saw my ig", and more recently “yh i kno” have been amassing a growing amount of streams across all platforms at an increasing rate. Alongside these songs’ growing streams, he’s gained the backing of a large, cult-like following on all platforms. This could be the result of his songs gaining popularity from TikTok due to his unique style.
In an interview with Instagram user tightundercoverjeans, phreshboyswag revealed how he got his name from messing around in random Discord servers.
"honestly i was chillin w my friend in like 2019 and made it my discord name as a joke we were like just on some trolling shit in random servers but then i didnt have a soundcloud name so it stuck, i wanted to change it a bunch but i think its perfect now😂"
Part of the collective #1c, he frequently collaborates with other members—most notably xaviersobased and tenkay—on ambient and sometimes somber tracks that are often paired with an aesthetic reminiscent of the early 2010’s emo scene.
