Biography
Redima is an alternative rock band from the city of Capanema, Pará. Formed in 2008 by Alexandre Mendes (bass), Jailson Siqueira (drums and programming), Jó Siqueira (guitar) and Jamilson Siqueira (vocals and keyboards). Their first release was in 2010, the demo EP Burning The Sky and the following year they virtually released the single Satélite - Demo. Influenced by New Wave and Post-punk, the band released the single Além do Tempo in 2013. After two releases in Portuguese, there is another virtual single, On the Fire, which further imprints the sound aesthetics that the band was looking for. The first album, Between Now and Yesterday arrived on March 5, 2016, containing three tracks sung in Portuguese, seven tracks in English and an instrumental prelude.
After a 4-year hiatus, the band resumes activities with the release of the single Ode ao Esquecimento, which was later included in the EP After Euforia (2021), which was produced with assistance for artists from the federal government, during the corona virus pandemic.
Redima was the first band from the interior of the state of Pará to enter digital platforms.
