sapientdream is a lofi electronica project by Julian Scanlan, better known as Slushii. In 2018 Scanlan released a lofi-inspired album called "Dreams", which he later used as the basis for this new alias. The original Dream album arrived in 2018 under Slushii's alias, but was later changed into sapientdream.
For those unfamiliar with Scanlan's Dream album it was frequently touted as his most experimental, raw album to date. In 2019 teased that he would start a new alias, and released the album "Dream II" where Scanlan hardly changed the formula, instead taking listeners down the rabbit hole while inviting them to "turn off their brain," as sapientdream's Spotify profile commands.
Since then, a third installment in the Dream-project has been released as well as more singles.
