Biography
The two Treys are the remaining active members of shadowood. They are an Atlanta based songwriting duo that have been writing and playing music together for over 15 years. They met when they were 3 years old in L.A. (lower Alabama) where they quickly became best friends through common interests and the fact that they have the same name (it doesn’t take much when you’re 3). At the age of 10 TreyT moved to Pensacola, Florida and TreyE moved to Alex City, Alabama. Little did they know that more than 20 years after moving apart they would still be writing music together.
You can hear the influence of musicians such as Jackopierce, James Taylor , Run DMC, Hank Williams, Charlie Robison, The Bare Naked Ladies and a hundred others mixed and mingled throughout their music.
Their style of self proclaimed “wuss rock” blends folk, country and rock to form an avenue of music that translates and transform into many genres. They are currently working on their third studio album with their band shadowood and long time producer Don McKinzie of McMix Production Services. The yet to be named album features the songs “Letters Home” which tells the story of soldier at war and his communication with his newborn and “Flip Flop Tan” that explores the compelling human urge to be someplace warm and sandy.
Their first two albums entitled “Too late to turn back now” and “The Treehouse incident” contain all original songs that show their range and passion for all types of music. The Treehouse Incident and the new single "Flip Flops" is available on iTunes and from their newly released shadowood iPhone App.
