Biography
Kim Min-woo (김민우) (born December 17, 1993), known professionally by the mononym Slom, is a South Korean-American music producer. He was born and raised in Palo Alto, California, his English name being Jeffrey Kim. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in sociology. He started making music in 2014 and has said that some of his major influences are Dibiase, Evil Needle, Mr. Carmack, and Kaytranada. The name "Slom" combines "Minwoo" and "sloth", given to him by a friend who said he looked like a sloth.
Slom first garnered attention when he appeared on Show Me the Money 10 as a judge and producer in 2021. Earlier in the year, he and singer-songwriter SUMIN released MINISERIES, earning critical acclaim. Its third track, "THE GONLAN SONG," won Best R&B and Soul Song at the 2022 Korean Music Awards. In 2022, he signed to Standard Friends and released his debut studio album Weather Report. In 2024, the pair SUMIN & slom collaborated once again to release a second installment to their first hit album, releasing MINISERIES 2; this album earned them the award for Best R&B and Soul Album at the 2025 Korean Music Awards.
